Recently Michael T. Ringwood, President of the Asia North Area of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, held a series of meetings with key government, business, and academic leaders in Korea.
Over a three day period, Elder Ringwood met with Jae-jeong Lee, Gyeongido Education Superintendent, Gyu-heon Kim, Deputy Foreign Minister, Joon-hee Lee, President of Hangook Ilbo (Korea Daily), and Mun-hwa Kim, President of the MBC Broadcasting Holding Company. He also conferred with university and academic leaders including Professor Jae-yeong Kim, Director of the Jesuit Scholar program at Sogang University.
Topics of conversation targeted social and religious issues such as Church humanitarian efforts, religious freedom, and ethics.
