서울 한국 군인 지방부 초등회, 어린이와 가족들을 위한 기억에 남을 성전 체험 마련

서울 한국 군인 지방부 초등회 조직이 최근 서울 한국 성전에서 모든 초등회 어린이들을 위한 특별 활동을 개최했습니다. 이 활동의 목표는 어린이들에게 성전 참석과 하나님 아버지와의 성약 맺기에 대한 흥미를 불러일으키는 것이었습니다. 서울 한국 군인 지방부 초등회 회장인 케린 밴스 자매는 "어린이들이 성전 체험을 하기를 원했다"고 전했습니다. 또한 이 행사는 초등회 어린이들의 부모님들이 함께 성전에 참석할 수 있는 기회를 제공했습니다.

5세 이상의 많은 어린이들을 수용하기 위해 두 번의 토요일에 걸쳐 어린이들은 다양한 성전 관련 활동에 참여했습니다. 그들은 각각 독특한 체험을 제공하는 6개의 다른 스테이션을 돌아다녔습니다. 스테이션은 다음과 같았습니다:

1. "성전에서의 나의 모습 상상하기": 어린이들의 폴라로이드 사진을 찍고 스크랩북 페이지를 만들었습니다.

2. "찾아보기": 모퉁잇돌, 모로나이 천사상, 분수대 등 성전과 성전 부지의 다양한 면을 찾아보는 활동이었습니다.

3. 마시멜로와 이쑤시개를 사용하여 성전 모형 만들기.

4. 로우버리 가족이 만든 성전의 골판지 모형을 걸어 다니기.

5. 성전에 관한 노래 부르기.

6. 흰옷을 입은 밴스 자매와 함께 성전 입구에서 만나 성전에서 행해지는 성스러운 일에 대해 배우기. 한 번의 순환 동안 서울 한국 성전 회장인 오 회장이 등장하여 어린이들과 대화를 나누었습니다.

스테이션을 모두 돌고 난 후, 어린이들은 간증 모임에 참여했으며, 많은 어린이들이 간증을 나누고 영을 느꼈다고 표현했습니다.

어린이들은 또한 행사 내내 기도를 하고 음악을 인도할 기회를 가졌습니다. 어린 자녀가 있는 가족들을 위해 유아반이 제공되었고, 참석한 모든 사람들을 위해 점심이 제공되었습니다. 8월 3일에는 56명의 어린이들이 24명의 성인 및 청소년 자원봉사자들의 도움으로 참여했습니다. 9월 7일에는 70명의 어린이들이 30명의 자원봉사자들의 지원을 받아 참여했습니다.

한 지도자는 "우리 아이들은 모든 활동을 정말 좋아했어요!! (더위 때문에 힘들어했지만, 활동 자체는 좋아했어요). 모두 집에 와서 성전에 대해 이야기했어요. 그리고 이 행사는 우리 지부 전체에게 정말 좋은 경험이 되었어요. 유아반이 있어서 큰 도움이 되었어요. 덕분에 평소에는 번갈아 가야 했던 많은 부모님들이 함께 갈 수 있었죠. 그리고 우리 미혼 어머니들도 갈 수 있었는데, 일부는 처음으로 가보셨어요!"라고 말했습니다.

군인 지방부의 한 자매는 이 행사가 얼마나 깊은 의미가 있었는지에 대해 이렇게 말했습니다. "성전 지방부의 날(들)이 우리를 개인으로서 하나님 아버지와 연결시키고, 가족으로서 서로를 연결시키며, 지부로서 우리 지방부를 연합시키는 데 어떻게 도움이 되었는지를 보고 깊은 감동을 받았습니다. 이 영감받은 활동에 우리 가족이 참여할 수 있는 기회를 주셔서 정말 감사합니다."

한 어머니는 이 행사가 자녀들에게 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 이렇게 설명했습니다. "어린이들의 성전의 날을 위해 사려 깊고 기도하는 마음으로 계획해 주셔서 다시 한 번 감사드립니다. 제 딸에게 오늘 가장 좋았던 점이 무엇이냐고 물었어요. 계속해서 재미있었다고 말해서요. 그랬더니 '게임도 많았지만, 제가 정말 가장 좋아했던 건 성신을 느낄 수 있었다는 거예요'라고 대답했어요. 오늘이 제 아이들이 항상 기억할 날이 될 것이며, 성전에 대한 그들의 간증을 키우는 데 도움이 되었다는 것을 알 수 있었습니다."

이 행사는 가족들을 강화시키고, 어린이들이 성전과 영적으로 연결되도록 하며, 어린이들과 부모님들 모두에게 지속적인 기억을 만들어 주었습니다

Seoul Korea Military District Primary Creates Memorable Temple Experience for Children and Families

The Seoul Korea Military District’s Primary Organization recently held a special activity for all Primary children at the Seoul Korea Temple. The goal was to spark excitement in the children about attending the temple and making covenants with Heavenly Father. Sister Kerynne Vance, SKMD Primary President, shared that they “wanted the children to have a temple experience.” Additionally, the event provided an opportunity for parents of Primary children to attend the temple together.

Over the course of two Saturdays, in order to accommodate the large number of children ages five and up, the children participated in various temple-related activities. They rotated through six different stations, each offering a unique experience. The stations included:

1. “Picture Yourself in the Temple,” where children had their polaroid picture taken and created a scrapbook page.
2. “I Spy,” which involved finding different facets of the temple and temple grounds, such as the cornerstone, the Angel Moroni, and the fountain.
3. Making a temple figure using marshmallows and toothpicks.
4. Walking through a cardboard model of the temple created by the Rowbury family.
5. Singing songs about the temple.
6. Meeting in the entrance to the temple with Sister Vance, dressed in white, who taught about the sacred work done in temples. During one of the rotations, President Oh, the Seoul Korea Temple President, made an appearance and spoke with the children.

After rotating through the stations, the children participated in a testimony meeting, during which many of them bore testimony and expressed how they had felt the Spirit.

Children also had opportunities to provide prayers and lead music throughout the event. For families with younger children, a nursery was provided, and lunch was made available for everyone in attendance. On August 3rd, 56 children participated with the help of 24 adult and teen volunteers. On September 7th, 70 children participated, supported by 30 volunteers.

One of the leaders noted, “Our kids loved ALL the activities!! (they struggled in the heat, but the activities they loved). They all came home talking about the temple. And the event made it such a sweet experience for our whole branch. It was super helpful for there to be a nursery. That allowed so many parents to enjoy going together when they normally have to split up. And our single moms were able to go, some for their first time!”

A sister from the Military District reflected on how deeply meaningful the event was, saying, “I was incredibly touched to see how the Temple District Day(s) helped to unite us as individuals to our Heavenly Father, as families to each other, and as branches to our District. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity you gave my family to participate in this inspired activity.”

One mother shared how the event impacted her children, explaining, “Thank you again dear sister for the thoughtful and prayerful planning for the children’s temple day. I asked my daughter what her favorite part was of today because she kept saying over and over how fun it was, and she said, ‘Well, there was a lot of games, but what I really liked most was that I felt the Holy Ghost.’ I could tell today is a day that my children will always remember, and that it helped to grow their testimony of the temple.”

This event strengthened families, allowed children to connect spiritually to the temple, and created lasting memories for both children and their parents.
